Manaus City Tour

We will depart from our chosen hotels to travel 18 km along the Ponta Negra highway to reach the port of Manaus, where our exciting tour will commence. Situated in the heart of the city, the port will be our first stop, and we will explore its interior before making a brief stop in front of the Rio Negro Palace, the official residence of the State Government.

Our next destination is the Museum of the Indian, managed by the Salesian Congregation. This museum offers the best insight into the traditions and customs of the indigenous people. It houses a collection of over four thousand items crafted by various tribes that have inhabited the region over the years. The exhibits feature domestic utensils, musical instruments, ornaments, and weapons.

We will then proceed with an exterior visit to the Palace of Justice in the Amazon, constructed under the direction of Governor Eduardo Ribeiro. This structure, inspired by French and neoclassical architecture, has been repurposed and now serves as a cultural center.

To conclude, the tour includes an interior visit to the Amazon Theater, inaugurated in 1896. This theater stands as one of Manaus's premier tourist attractions and is a symbol of the rubber boom era, with its wealth and grandeur still evident in its corridors, halls, and artworks.

Shortly after, we will return to the selected hotels, marking the end of our tour.
